Vivian Kominos, MD, FACC, ABOIM

Fellowship 2007

Vivian A.  Kominos, MD, FACC is board certified in integrative medicine and cardiology. She received her medical degree from St. Louis University School of Medicine and returned to her home state of New Jersey to complete her internal medicine residency and cardiovascular fellowship at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. She founded her practice in 1989 which blossomed, with the help of her partners, into a full service consultative and interventional practice.

After 15 years of treating heart disease as an invasive cardiologist, Dr. Kominos looked to expand her knowledge and skills. Inspired by patients and family, she attended a nutrition conference where she met Dr. Andrew Weil! Excited by what she learned, she began focusing on integrative medicine and completed the AzCIM 2 year fellowship program in 2007.

In 2012 she joined the Continuum Center for Health and Healing in NYC, where she established an integrative cardiology program. During her three years at the Center she was fortunate to have worked with luminaries in the field of integrative medicine: nutritionists, acupuncturists, physicians, and specialists in physical therapy, chiropractic and homeopathy. Now, Dr. Kominos is back in her home state of New Jersey where she has a private practice for Integrative Cardiology and Wellness in West Long Branch. She also is on the AWCIM faculty where she teaches and is a content contributor. She promotes the principles of Integrative Medicine through community programs, professional lectures, clinical consultations and serves on the American Board of Integrative Medicine.
