William Devine, DO

Doctor William H. Devine has a great interest in Osteopathic manipulative medicine, medical history, medical education and osteopathic medical research. For many years he has served the osteopathic medical community in teaching manual medicine to MDs, DOs, and other health care professionals. He is dual-board certified in Osteopathic Family Medicine and Neuromusculoskeletal Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine. He integrates osteopathic concepts and skills with his medical practice at the Midwestern University Multispecialty Clinic. He presently is lecturer and Director of Postgraduate Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine for the Midwestern University OPTI, Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine Residency Program Director and Director of Medical Education for the residency at Midwestern University Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine, MWU Osteopathic Specialty Clinic Coordinator, as well as is a full time Clinical Professor of Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine in the Department of Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine at Midwestern University Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine. He is postgraduate lecturer and faculty member of the University of Arizona College of Medicine, Tucson- Integrative Medicine Fellowship Program. He was section editor and co-author of the chapter on Chapman’s Reflexes for the Foundations of Osteopathic Medicine 3rd Edition textbook. He is co-author of two textbooks on clinical application of counterstrain osteopathic manipulation, Clinical Application of Counterstrain- Myers -1st Ed. and Compendium Edition (Editor. Dr. Devine has lectured for years throughout Europe, the United States as well in Arizona on topics of clinical osteopathic medicine. He served on the American Osteopathic Board of Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine as well as other American Academy of Osteopathy committees and boards including the AAO Education Committee, and the AAO board of trustees and governing board. He is the Osteopathic representative to the Arizona Medicare Carrier Advisory Committee and serves HSAG as a consultant on Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine case investigation and review. Among the educational and service awards he is recipient of the Midwestern University Littlejohn Award, the highest given to MWU professors. He also was awarded Top Educator Award by the Midwestern University Consortium of Medical Residents, as well as numerous Arizona state and society and medical student recognition awards.
