Hilary McClafferty MD FAAP

Assistant Director of the Fellowship

Hilary McClafferty MD FAAP began her position as Assistant Director of the Fellowship in April 2011. She is a graduate of the Integrative Medicine Fellowship Class of 2005, and is board-certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Emergency Medicine. She received her medical degree from the University of Michigan, and completed pediatrics residency training at Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago and at the University of Arizona in Tucson.

She is certified in clinical hypnosis and trained in medical acupuncture. She was the founder of the Center for Women and Children's Integrative Medicine, a private consult practice in Chapel Hill, N.C., and adjunct faculty at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill prior to her move to Tucson. McClafferty sits on the executive committee of the American Academy of Pediatrics Section on Complementary and Integrative Medicine, and has been active in developing policy for pediatric integrative medicine. She also leads the initiative for physician health and wellness for the AAP.

She has strong interests in mind body medicine, developing clinical models in integrative medicine, medical education, and physician health and wellness. She speaks nationally on integrative topics and is a published author.
